Dolfijnen Seafari op de Atlantische Oceaan.

Gisteren weer een geweldige vakantie top dag gehad. En weer terwijl we in een boot zaten. Ik houd helemaal niet van boten en veel water om me heen tenzij de boot wat groter is. Maar de weersomstandigheden waren gisteren ideaal, niet te veel wind en zonnig (maar dat is het hier altijd in de zomer haha). Dus gisteren vanuit Lagos met een boot (900PK, 60 km per uur, en dat gaat echt snel) op dolfijnen seafari geweest. Nog geen 10 minuten aan het varen en we hadden ze al gevonden. GEWELDIG. De tocht duurde 1 1/2 uur en we hebben van elke minuut genoten. Het water was heel helder en je kon de dolfijnen ook heel goed onder water zien.

Er waren heel veel dolfijnen in deze groep, allemaal op jacht naar sardientjes.

Verjaardags kaart voor mijn broertje.

Mijn "broertje" wordt volgende week 44. En deze kaart moet op de bus voordat ik in het vliegtuig stap. Goed dat schets 33 van Kazan op 2S4Y gebruikt kon worden voor een mannelijke kaart. Dit is de laatse kaart die ik maak voordat ik op vakantie ga. Ik neem ook helemaal niets mee om kaarten te maken, ik heb wel een paar leuke tijdschriften en een hele stapel nieuwe boeken klaarliggen. Ik kom mijn tijd wel door!


I made this card for my "little" brother who will be 44 next week. I won't be here so I need to put this card in the mail before I step on the plane to Portugal. This is the last I card I'll make for about 3 weeks. And I will not take any card making supplies with me. I do have some magazines I have been hoarding for the vacation. And a big pile of new books. I won't be bored the coming weeks!

Nog een verjaardagskaart.

Ik ben een beetje aan het vooruit werken. Er zijn wat mensen jarig terwijl ik op vakantie ben dus verstuur ik de kaarten maar voor dat ik weg ga. Deze is voor Wilma ( ze is op vakantie dus leest ze dit niet, hoop ik). Gemaakt aan de hand van schets #28 van CardPatterns. Leuke schets. Ik zag er eerst een Kerstkaart in maar het is dus toch weer een verjaardagskaart geworden. Na de vakantie begin ik met het maken van Kerstkaarten.

Weer een kaart af. Deze is voor mijn moeder en mijn broer als ze terugkomen uit Zuid-Afrika. ik heb deze gemaakt aan de hand van de schets op het blog van Dutch Card Lovers.

Weer een leuke schets van CPS. Ik heb deze kaart gemaakt, ik heb alleen de schets gedraaid. Kwam beter uit met de stempels.

Weer een lay-out af!

Toch wel handig, zo'n challenge blog voor scrapbook lay-outs. Als ik totaal geen inspiratie heb doe ik er niet aan mee maar op deze manier heb ik dit jaar al meer lay-outs gemaakt dan vorig jaar.
Deze lay-out heb ik gemaakt voor 2 challenges, de ZON-ZEE-STRAND challenge op het blog van wijDUS en de challenge op het Cuttlebug Challenge blog "create a scene card", in dit geval dus een "scene lay-out".
Ik ben het een keer zelf op de foto, gemaakt tijdens onze super mega geweldige vakantie die ons jaar in de VS afsloot. Dit strand is net boven Los Angeles, 10 grade celsius is de water temperatuur. En ik had wel heel hard geroepen "ik ga in de Pacific zwemmen" , ik heb het toch maar niet gedaan. Zo koud!

I made this lay-out for 2 challenges, the one on the wijDUS blog, SUN-SEA-BEACH, and the challenge on the Cuttlebug Challenge blog, create a scene card (in my case a scene lay-out).
The picture was taken on a beach above Los Angeles where we stopped for a night. This was in 2002 when we had a 3 week RV vacation to end our year in the United States. The water was so very cold. I was going to swim in the Pacific but this is as far as I went in! The titel says: it was only 10 degrees Celsius in Dutch.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

Gauw een kaart gemaakt voor de Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Ik ga vanavond naar Mariëlle en zij heeft een nieuwe hond, een puppy. Ik ben heel benieuwd. Ik denk niet dat er veel gecropt gaat worden. Ik heb een zakje met hondensnoepjes gekocht en in een leuk zakje gedaan (geen foto) en dan deze kaart. Aan de hand van de schets op het blog van PBSC.

Double Dutch op de valreep

Ik denk echt altijd dat ik heel veel tijd heb voor de challenges van Double Dutch (ik heb tenslotte 2 weken hiervoor) maar toch krijg ik het vaak niet voor elkaar iets te maken.
Vandaag is het op de valreep toch gelukt. Het cadeau envelopje. De maten stonden op het blog, makkelijker kan het niet.
Ik heb de cadeau envelop bijpassend aan een kaart gemaakt. Komen de restjes papier ook nog van pas.

CardPatterns sketch #27

Ik ben geloof ik nog nooit zo snel geweest met het maken van een kaart. De schets stond vanmorgen pas online. Maar ik moet wat vooruit werken, ik heb wat mannenkaarten nodig voor deze maand en die wil ik posten voor dat ik op vakantie ga. Deze kaart heb ik gemaakt voor CardPatterns. Leuke schets en het papier van MM maakt het maken van kaarten voor mannen niet iets makkelijker.

I'm not so fast normally in making a card but I'm working ahead. I need some masculine cards the coming weeks and I want to have them finished before I go on vacation. I always have trouble with masculine cards but the MM paper makes it a bit more easier. This card is for the new sketch on the CardPatterns blog. A real nice sketch this week.

Our dog Moos went to the groomer today. He was brushed, washed and trimmed where neccessary. He looks like a complete new dog. He feels so soft, he smells nice. Too bad this will not last!

Kazan's sketch #32.

Gelukkig zijn er de komende tijd nog heel wat mensen in onze familie/vrienden/kennissen kring jarig. Want ik maak toch het meeste verjaardagskaarten. Deze week heb ik niet zo veel gedaan, veel te warm om boven te zitten. En als het zo warm is verdwijnt mijn inspiratie. Lekker in de schaduw met een boek. Zalig, ik heb zelf nog niet echt vakantie maar aangezien ik maar 2 tot 3 ochtenden in de week werk houd ik genoeg tijd over om te ontspannen.

Maar gisteren had ik toch nog inspiratie genoeg voor een kaart voor 2S4Y. Weer een leuke schets van Kazan.

Because of the very hot weather over here this week (30° C on Thursday) I only made two cards. But I do need some cards over the next few weeks so I braved my very hot (no airconditioning) craft room. This is the result for Kazan's sketch over on 2S4Y.

My DH went into hospital last week on Wednesday for his second treatment. He came home again on Monday. He wasn't sick at all this time, just very bored and a bit claustrofobic. It's a room with lead wall so he hears no sounds at all. He can open the windows but that's all. He is not allowed out of his room and the nurses only come in for food and drinks, not to chat. He does have Internet and TV but he is not allowed visitors. He started working again on Thursday. His vacation starts on Wednesday the coming week and he had 4 (four) weeks. We are flying to Portugal on August the 20th for 2 weeks, we reckon we deserve it!

CardPatterns sketch #26

Mijn kaart voor CardPatterns. Altijd leuk om met het naaimachine te werken op de kaarten die ik maak. Het lint heb ik al zo lang en nog nooit iets mee gedaan. De kleur past goed bij het papier van October Afternoon.

My card for sketch #26 on the CardPatterns blog. I liked the sketch. Paper is by October Afternoon. I used my sewing machine some staples and some prima flowers. I love the ribbon, I have had it for ages but hadn't used it yet. Goes very well with the paper.

Een vriendschapskaart.

Het is "friendship week" in Amerika en het thema van de week op het Cuttlebug Challenge blog is dus een vriendschap kaart en dan ook nog in de vorm van een "gatefold". Dit is mijn kaart geworden. De kaart heeft ook al een bestemming. Altijd leuk om een kaartje te sturen. En aangezien de ontvanger nog op vakantie is kan ik dit wel op mijn blog zetten.

Overlevingspakketje voor mijn moeder.

Mijn moeder vertrekt komende woensdag naar Zuid-Afrika met mijn broer. Eerst gaan ze een 3 daagse trein reis (Dit moet je echt even zien) maken die eindigt bij de Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Daarna vliegen ze weer terug naar Zuid-Afrika en bezoeken ze enkele parken. Dit is wat mijn moeder cadeau heeft gekregen van mijn broer voor haar 80ste verjaardag (dat is overigens pas in november). Ik heb voor mijn moeder een klein overlevingspakket gemaakt. Een flinke plak chocolade, waxine lichtjes, lucifers en een flesje spul om je handen mee te wassen zonder water. Ik ben het vanmiddag even gaan brengen, lekker in de tuin gezeten bij mijn moeder. Ik heb dit ook meteen gemaakt voor challenge #41 op het Cuttlebug challene blog. "Iets" wat je heb liggen, een verpakking etc., veranderen. Ik had het zakje nog liggen, ooit gekregen bij een leuk winkeltje hier in het dorp.

I made this bag and contents for my mother who is travelling to South-Africa later this week with my brother. They go on a 3 day train trip first (you really have to check this out), and then they go and visit some game parks. It's her 80th birthday gift (she will be 80 in November) from my brother.
The bag is a bit of a survival bag, it has chocolat, little tealights, matches and a bottle of stuff with which you can wash your hands without water. I went over this afternoon to give it to her and she really loved it!
This is also for Challenge #41 on the Cuttlebug challenge blog. To create an altered project from items in your bin, well, the bag I used I got in a store after I bought something there and I kept it and now I altered it.
