Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween iedereen. Én Halloween vandaag en Simone's verjaardag. Elk jaar weer een uitdaging om een kaart voor haar te maken die deze 2 feestelijke feiten combineert. En het is weer gelukt! Simone is een aantal weken geleden begonnen met schaatsles en dit plaatje komt uit een oud Zwarten Pieten spel. Ik heb het plaatje gekopïeërd. Het papier is van Basic Grey en dat is een Halloween lijn van vorig jaar of misschien wel het jaar ervoor.

Verder heb ik dit jaar wel één Halloween kaart gemaakt. Die ploft ergens in Nederland vandaag in de brievenbus. Dit was zo'n leuke kaart om te maken. De stempel is van Penny Black en heb ik 2de hands gekocht. En de pot is een stempel van PTI. Lekker veel distress inkt gebruikt en masking paper.

En verder hebben Simone en ik nog een echte Halloween taart gemaakt afgelopen zaterdag. Wij zijn er bijna heel de dag mee bezig geweest maar we waren heel tevreden over het resultaat. De taart is bekleed met zwart fondant en de pompoen en het gras is royal icing, een soort glazuur. Die is er met de spuitzak opgespoten. Is mijn Wilton cursus van 10 jaar geleden toch niet voor niets geweest.



Happy Halloween to all my blog readers. Today is also my daughter's birthday, 17 already! The card at the top is her birthday card. I always try to combine Halloween and her birthday. She started skating lessons a few weeks ago and the paper is by Basic grey, the Eerie collection. The cake we made on Saturday, took us hours but we love the result. And the other card is the only Halloween card I made this year but this was a fun one to make.

Pompoenen!

Vanmiddag kwam een collega van mij langs met haar 2 dochters, Sophie en Emma. Wij hadden afgesproken om pompoenen uit te gaan snijden. Simone, Tom en Audrey (nichtje) waren er natuurlijk ook bij. Altijd leuk om te doen en dit jaar hebben de pompoenen van Simone en Tom 2 gezichten. Leuk bedacht.

Always so much fun to do, carving pumpkins. A friend from work joined us this afternoon with her 2 daughters. Simone and Tom carved both sides of the pumpkin and now have a happy and an angry side.

World Card Making day, challenge 3.

Ik heb vanmiddag lekker boven gezeten en de 3de challenge gemaakt voor WCMD op het blog van The CLASSroom. Deze challenge was een inchie challenge, om precies te zijn, een inchie spotlight challenge. Ik ben tevreden met mijn kaart en alweer een Kerstkaart klaar.

I had fun this afternoon creating a card for the "inchie spotlight challenge" from The CLASSroom, this was the 3rd challenge for WCMD. I'm pretty satisfied with how this card turned out and it's another Christmas card done.

EDIT: Oops, I missed the "Fall themed card" bit for the challenge. Ah well, I'm not going to start again.

Van boek naar vogelhuisje.

Ik kwam laatst op een blog een link tegen die verwees naar een weer andere website waar hele leuke vogelhuisjes op stonden gemaakt van een boek. Ik ben gisteren naar de kringloper gegaan voor een aantal boeken, (ga dus echt niet mijn eigen boeken gebruiken!!!). Het is even vouwen maar het resultaat is erg leuk. Ik ga de hogere variant ook nog maken.

From Book to birdhouse.

I found the link to this website on a blog a while ago. Yesterday I bought some books in our local thriftstore and made this birdhouse. it takes some time to fold all the pages but the result is so fun. I'm also going to make the taller birdhouse.

Vanavond een kaart voor Max gemaakt. Altijd weer een uitdaging, jongenskaarten. Ik heb de schets van de 4de challenge gebruikt van The CLASSroom. Met een schets ben je altijd al ver op pad. En wat jongensachtig papier, en klaar ben je.

I made a card for a boy tonight. Always a challenge. I used the sketch challenge from The CLASSroom blog. It's the 4th challenge they put on the blog on WCMD. The sentiment reads Hip, hip Hurray in Dutch and robot language.

World Card Making Day, challenge 2.

De tweede challenge van The CLASSroom was wel een aparte. Ik moest nl. eerst gaan uitzoeken wat ze bedoelde met "ombre look". Dat was gelukkig snel genoeg gevonden via Google. En het moest ook nog een Kerstkaart zijn. Ik ga deze kaart ook gebruiken voor het Jingle Belles blog, daar moest je het vrede teken of het woord vrede gebruiken op je kaart.

I had some trouble starting the second challenge from the CLASSroom as I didn't know what "ombre look" meant. I found it through Google. I'll also use this card for the Jingle Belles blog. You needed to make a card using the peace symbol or the word peace.

World Card Making Day..........

........... was op 1 oktober. Een hele dag die in het teken staat van kaarten maken. Online waren er natuurlijk tal van challenges. Ik heb me beperkt tot één blog, The CLASSroom, 4 challenges en ik heb tot 7 oktober om ze te maken. Dit is de eerste, een kleurenchallenge.

World Card Making Day was on October 1st. There were lots of challenges online but I only followed one blog, the CLASSroom. They had 4 challenges and the first one was a color challenge.

Nieuwe inkt.

Wat doe je als Tim Holtz op zijn blog laat zien dat er een set gelimiteerde distress inkt uitgebracht wordt?  Dan ga je meteen zoeken en bestellen. Zodoende had ik afgelopen vrijdag al een pakje in huis met de set met 3 kleuren. En meteen uitgeprobeerd natuurliijk. Ik heb er een herfstkaart mee gemaakt. En het zijn echt hele mooie kleuren.

I got the new limited edition distress inks on Friday. Made a card with it. I love the new colors.

Eén kaart, 2 challenges.

Af en toe maak ik nog eens een kaart voor een challenge. En als ik dan één kaart voor 2 challenges kan maken is dat ook wel mooi meegenomen. Op het Jingle belles blog was de challenge "Deck the Halls" en de challenge op het Moxie Fab blog was de challenge "card play".

Ik heb vorig jaar een oud kaartspel, zwarte pieten, gevonden in een antiekwinkel hier in het dorp. Het was niet compleet maar ik vond de plaatjes zo schattig. Er zat ook nog een balboekje uit 1892 bij!! Zo leuk. Staat in mijn kast bij alle andere leuke spulletjes. Ik heb voor mijn kaart een van de speelkaarten gekopieerd (ik ga echt de originele kaarten niet gebruiken). Ik heb zo eens alle kaarten die in het spel zitten goed bekeken en ik kan deze voor heel veel gelegenheden gebruiken.

One card for 2 challenges.

I found an old set of playing cards in a local antique shop. It was incomplete but I love the images so I bought it anyway. It also contained a very old dance card,  from 1892. In it gentemen could write their name behind a dance. Such a lucky find!
Anyway, I used one of the playing cards to make one card for two challenges. The "Deck the Halls" challenge on the Jingle Belles blog and the "card play" challenge on the Moxie fab world blog. I copied the playing card, couldn't get myself to use the orininal.

500ste blogbericht.

Op 20 maart 2008 ben ik mijn blog begonnen. Nu ben ik dus 500 berichtjes verder. En ik vind het nog steeds leuk, bloggen.   Aangezien ik vrijwel helemaal gestopt ben met challenges is het wel een beetje stil hier. Dit wil niet zeggen dat ik niets doe en ik vergeet ook nog wel om foto's te maken van mijn kaarten. Dit keer heb ik wel een foto gemaakt, dit moest nog even snel want hij moest vandaag ook nog op de post. De kaart is voor mijn broertje en die is morgen jarig. Ik heb de stempelset die ik gebruikt heb vorige week gekocht. Super stempels en de tekst op deze kaart vind ik geweldig. En aangezien mijn broer golft gaat hij de tekst ook wel waarderen! ( Klik op de foto om deze groter te kunnen zien.)

I started blogging in March 2008 and this is my 500rd post. I love blogland and I learned a lot the last few years.
I bought this Crafty Secrets stampset last week and I used it for the birthday card for my brother who turnes 46 tomorrow. I really like the sentiment I used here. And my brother plays golf so he'll understand it! I also played with some new Bo Bunny paper I got at the same time.
